It’s only that a recent wave of guilt has drifted over us that we’re relenting and mentioning this to you at all. So don’t ask too many questions. And whisper, don’t shout to your friends.
Chez Dre. There we’ve said it.
It’s such a stunning spot that when you get there (in a few minutes, if you’re smart, with your laptop still warm having just read this post) you’ll know why we wanted to keep it all a bit hush hush. It really is fab.
Busy from dawn to dusk it seems churlish not to share it with our lovely Melbourne visitors so mark this one down and try not to blame us for holding out on you for so long.
A lovely lofty space, it’s part cafe, part bakery, part restaurant, and executes all three exceedingly well. It was hard to know whether to pop in a pic of the enormous brekky, the zingy salad or the exquisite items from the patisserie, but we love the colours in this spread of macaroons, so they won out. Perfect with a latte between bouts of Melbourne sightseeing or a visit to the South Melbourne Market. Take away items will seduce you. Be warned.
